とうとうやってしまった４０時間！

出張中のトラブル！

出張ばかりが続き、疲労感も出てきたと思ったときだった。現場に立ち寄った際に、どうもおかしい。順調に動くはずのシステムが、何か変だ。

受注から納品まで、超短期間のスケジュールだった。ヒアリングし、カスタマイズし、導入し、オペレーション教育、サービス開始だった。通常であれば、パッケージを持ってい無い限り無理な納品だ。パッケージの強みだなんて、一瞬喜んだときもあった。

しかし、今回は特殊なケースに伴い、短期間のカスタマイズをしてしまった。お客さんも複雑すぎるのか熟練者が必要な業務であると思われた。聞けば聞くほど、頭が痛くなる。

サービスを開始してしまっているので、一日のデータ件数が数千件、一つ一つ確認したり、調査用にプログラムを組んだりした。あっと言う間の時間が経過してしまった。

ビジネスホテル、無泊なのに料金徴収。

その日は東京へ帰る日だった。夜の便で社員２名と私で３名で夕食はジンギスカンを食べお腹一杯で、飛行機に乗り東京へ帰る予定だった。しかし、午後になり、帰れない気がしてきた。もっと調査が必要だった。すかさず、飛行機のキャンセルと翌日便の予約、ビジネスホテルの予約を考えた。いつもなら会社に電話すれば総務担当がやってくれる。しかし今日は日曜日、会社に電話しても総務部は休みだ。こんなとき、つくづく総務の重要性を感じる。でも緊急事態だと休日中にも関わらず、総務担当の社員に電話で対応してもらった。

そこまでは良かった。そのまま作業を進めると、夜の１１時だ。ホテルに電話して、チェックインが１２時回るかもしれませんと電話を入れた。その後、気がつくと周りは明るい、朝だ。やばい！ホテルに泊まれない、意味無いじゃん。結局ビジネスホテルに泊まれず、宿泊代を丸々払うことになってしまった。

寝ずの４０時間労働！

翌日になり、今日こそは帰れる。飛行機は、念のため最終便を予約している。じっくり仕事をしていこうと徹夜明けでも気合が入った。結構この時点では、眠いより、楽しさも感じていた。

昔は、良く開発で現場で徹夜をした。最近の徹夜は、経営戦略を立てたり、営業資料の作成、決算処理などが多い、でもやっぱり自分はエンジニアだ。開発しながらの徹夜は、凄く懐かしく思い楽しい。

結局、最終便の時間になってしまった。でも終わっていない、仕方なく社員２名を最終便で帰し、自分だけ残ることにした。社員は、この３連休、札幌。周りからしてみれば３連休に北海道なんて、いい旅行に思える。しかし、中身は徹夜続きの仕事だった。・・・ご苦労様でした。

一人残された自分は、孤独にプログラミングをしている。もう既に１日半、３６時間ひたすら作業している。眠いと思えば確かに眠い、でも眠さより楽しい。

『CallNavi』がこんなに『SIPコールセンター』で面白いように動き、活躍している。楽しいでしょう。結局、夜中の１２時が過ぎ２時半に引き上げることにした。４１時間、一睡もせずに現役復帰した。まだまだ、行ける、納得がいくまでやるのが真のエンジニアだ。

しかし、今回は納得がいっていない。お客様に迷惑を掛けてしまった。非常に反省するところだ。今回のお客様は、すばらしい。先端技術には、問題が多い。それを理解して頂けるお客様は、本当にすばらしいと思う。そうでないと日本に先端技術は流行らない。

その反面、それに甘えてしまった自分達は恥ずかしい。反省を含めとにかく頑張りたい！

便利な「ドンキホーテ」

予定より２日間も延びてしまった札幌出張、当然着る服もない、いつもならホテルのコインランドリーにお世話になるところが、身体がやっぱり疲労の固まりだった。今回はすすきの交差点の東横インに泊まった。Webからの予約なので、靴下をサービスでもらえた。（やったー！）下着もワイシャツも無い、近くのドンキホーテは朝は５時までだ。今はまだ３時半、早速ショッピングにでかけた。

あるある、ワイシャツにパンツにＴシャツ、なんとワイシャツが４９０円、パンツが７９８円、Ｔシャツが６９８円、いいね。　そんなに悪くないと４９０円のワイシャツ、青色のストライブの柄、欠点は一つ、自分はいつも袖はボタンを使わずカフスでとめる。何度やってもカフスが通らない。良く見たら、カフスの穴が無い！さすが４９０円だ！

この忙しさに寝不足が続き、出張疲れが貯まり、とうとう貫徹までしてしまった。身体はボロボロだけど、気持ちはまだ２０代のバリ元気だ。

ＳＩＰを広めることを思うと楽しくてしかたない。この後、１０月３日まで休み無く、全て出張だ。沖縄－ベトナム－札幌、気合を入れてやって行こう！
