日本は先月の18位から、急降下。うーん、かねてから「FIFAランキングは実力を表していない」と言われていたけど、新算定方式になって、身の丈に合った感じになった、というべきか。

算定方法として、過去の成績の反映期間を8年から4年に変更したというところが大きいようだ。つまり、ちょっと乱暴な言い方だけど、「トルシエジャパンの4年間を抜いたら、ジーコジャパンんはこの成績ですよ」ということになる。

日本だけでなく、アジア勢の凋落も激しい。最高がイランの47位（先月23位）、韓国も56位に落ちた（先月は29位）。アジアのレベルを上げるには、新加入したオーストラリアの力も借りなきゃだめかな（現在33位）。

「さっそく来年からオーストラリアとの定期戦を決めてきました」などという行動力がJFAにあるか。どうか。
